Because I was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with these two this week,
I didn't spend much time here. And I'm totally okay with that.
This morning I purchased supplies
for this. Thanks to so many good suggestions, I'm feeling quite confident about getting a lot accomplished on the machine quilting this weekend.
I added another contender in the battle for who "rules" my sewing room. It looks promising.
And stacked up the coordinating solids for Single Girl. (Excuse the weird shadow on the fabric; that would be me standing in the way of the light from the window...)
How will you be spending your weekend?

Pure playdo pleasure! Love it! This weekend-sanding a piece of furniture for our (hopeful) new house. have a good one. Janice
That sounds like a delightful weekend!
I think we might take Iris swimming for the first time. Ezra picked out her swimsuit and it's adorable.
I am hoping to get at least 3 pillowcase dresses done and photographed,, sadly without models since my granddaughter lives out of state.
Unfortunately this is a weekend of errand running and meetings. Not much time for anything else.
Have fun with your project. I've found that machine quilting is really good exercise!
I will stew over a baby quilt I am wanting to make but lack confidence to do. Hopefully I will also add to my mini quit so it is closer to finished. I look forward to seeing your quilt, it is so lovely.
My daughter and I took a little "girls" trip to Omaha, NE today and are spending the night here in a hotel, doing some shopping (found a wonderful quilt shop today!) and just enjoying each other's company in celebration of our birthdays....each of us are in the last year of a decade....and I think you know which one mine is!! Her birthday is a week before mine. She left her babies with their daddy...hopefully, they will all be fine when we return! =)
looks like a fun week of play! Love your new purchases, which reminds me that I need to get more basting spray too. Have fun reuniting with your sewing machine!
I love the colors! I saw your comment on Red Pepper Quilts blog on how to avoid pleating in grid quilting.
A couple things that really help for me are - 1) a walking foot. a life-saver. 2) I hold the quilt sandwich really tight as i quilt. So as i'm nearing the foot on my sewing machine, i hold the sandwich tighter than taut, even stretching the fabric a little. If your spray-basting, I don't know how taut you can pull it, but maybe pin-basting would also help with this? i've only ever pin-basted so that might be something to consider :).
Happy Quilting!
