The Name Game: Candied Apples

This week I'm thrilled to have Camilla from Candied Apples.

I first met Camilla when I was making the infamous Amy Butler Weekender Bag. She was one of several who had walked that path before me, and she had a lot of valuable advice. She knew what she was talking about. I know there are a lot of Orla Kiely fans out there, so you'll love how her Weekender turned out.

Hi! I'm Camilla from Candied Apples. I am so excited and honored to be part of the Name Game!

How did you choose the name for your blog?

When I chose the name for my blog I wanted something fun, youthful, happy and creative. Those were the most important elements of my blog.  I chose Candied Apples because it had all of those things and it was one of my favorite things to eat as a child. Also, at the time that I started the blog,  I was selling baby clothes that I made on Etsy. It seemed like the perfect shop name.

Were there other names you considered, and can you share any of them with us?

Hmm... I named my blog so long ago I can't remember what else I considered! If I were to do it again I might consider Camilla, The Clean Pineapple or Orange Marmalade. Camilla is my name, so it would be an obvious choice. Plus it has a fun sound. I would have chosen The Clean Pineapple because having a clean house and eating pineapple are two of my favorite things. And I also love Orange Marmalade, so that could be fun!

Now that you are recognized by your blog name, are you happy with it, or do you wish you could change it to something else?

I LOVE my blog name. I will keep it forever.

Camilla, it's interesting that you considered Orange Marmalade. Coming up soon will be Tammy from Marmalade Fabrics and it will be fun to see how she chose that name.

I hope you will all go over and say hi to Camilla. Besides her obviously great sewing ability, she is also a DIYer. See how she made this play stove. (And it's orange--so I'm a big fan!)

If you want to learn more about Camilla, other than how she picked her fun blog name, there is a great interview here.

Next week I'm super excited to have Jules in a double spotlight: Chicken Julie and From Three to Insanity. Don't miss it!
