Friday Finishes

Are you here expecting Farmer's Wife Friday? Well, it turns out that the farmers' wives, both here and in Carla's area, are away at a convention. Probably learning new canning techniques or something. In other words, for various reasons, neither of us were able to get our four blocks made this week.

But speaking of Farmer's Wife, Sunni from Love Affair With My Brother (which never fails to make me chuckle...) came up with the idea of Farmer's Wife in My Life.

Several of us are making projects with one to nine blocks, to show that you can definitely have fun with these blocks without committing to a whole quilt.  I'm on the schedule for March 13. I have a project idea in my head. It might be a good thing to get started actually working on it... Please play along. There are prizes!

Next, the winners from the Superior Threads giveaway. Thanks to everyone who stopped by--my highest number of comments ever. And thanks to everyone who decided to become a new friend (aka follower). I hope you'll come back often.

Rather than using the computer-generated Random Number Generator, I went with another very capable number-chooser:
I gave her the number range to choose from, and she chose #3 b78ayers, and #199, VickiT. As soon as I get your contact information, the thread will be in the mail.

The giveaway for Riel's book is still open until 6 p.m. tonight PST.
I forgot to post February's pic from the calendar we got from our State Farm insurance salesman, so here is March.
And a snapshot from my month of February, thanks to Project 365 by fatmumslim.

And I have a Friday Finish, so I finally get to link at crazymomquilts! This was the challenge quilt I made for the quilt retreat last weekend, which so relaxing, fun and therapeutic. That's what happens when you get to spend a whole weekend sewing with your best friends.

Because each little house was based on some personal things related to each of my friends, I made each of us a little book explaining all the fun details behind each block.

This weekend I hopefully have the help of Eric in all tasks to be done. After him being so sick and unavailable for 2 weeks, I am tired. I will hopefully be sewing large 13" blocks of green and shamrock fleece together, going to a children's clothing resale, and writing reports and IEP's.

See my girls would get stuck at twenteen (20), so I have to stick with the random option!
Love your houses and can't wait for Sunni's Wives x

Can't wait to see your farmer's wife stuff, since I STILL haven't even started mine yet. Sigh. The idea for the book is just awesome. How special!

Another amazing day. I'm almost glad you didn't get your FWBlocks finished as I liked this post so much! AND you make books for your pals to go along with your blocks? Again--you are amazing. (Do you sleep?)

I need to get a midterm written, then I can start cleaning up from downstairs' quilting nite (only a few came, but all the delicious cupcakes are leftover. Pity.) and then I can get sewing! (Or a nap. . .)
