I know it's inching toward the holiday season, but our temperature is inching upward to 95 tomorrow! That's just wrong...
I've been in a bit of house updating mode lately. That happens every five to seven years. I used to love my "red licorice" wall in the bedroom. No longer. It is scheduled for repainting in November.
So Mark made sure I read this article which was in the paper on Monday.
I told him I was a trendsetter--ahead of my time...

I actually found the vase in the inspiration picture at Pier 1 but I'm not sure I want to spend the $30. What do you think?

Yes, go ahead and say it. She is adorable!
My father and our grandson, separated by nearly 84 years. Love this picture!

$30 for that vase seems reasonable- it's very stylish! Maybe paint a wall red in your dining room? It's supposed to stimulate the appetite!! Great photo of Dad and grandson!
You know, I think you and I could have some fun together at Barnes and Noble ;-) I am enjoying my copy of Jane's book as well. Our temperatures aren't dropping here either. It's making me crazy. Good luck with the decorating. Love the red wall by the way. At our previous house, the dining room was painted a similar red. Does stimulate the appetite, but don't think I need a red wall for that .... ha! Love the family pictures! Happy Thursday!
I like your vase so only get it if you really want it! $30 is reasonable but I'm a fan of TJ Max house wear dept (deals!). Your granddaughter is precious!
SO crazy that it is 95 where you live with Christmas around the corner! The thing I like about the new vase is that it's clear...gives a different 'light' look to that area....your new space looks great though.
I like the vase in the magazine photo - maybe Mark would buy it as a Christmas present for you?! I love the photos of the family - the little ones are so canny!
love all the fun, random things going on in your life, that entryway makeover looks wonderful!
95 in mid/late October? Definitely wrong.
I am in a simplification phase so I vote No to the new vase. I love the one you've got there!
Agree on the red licorice wall. It looks fab with that wonderful quilt, but so would white or taupe. Boring, perhaps but I like a neutral canvas.
Your grandkids are indeed adorable. ADORABLE!
I had a red wall in my old house, I loved it but after a while it had to go! I stick to more neutral colours now (let's not talk about the brown wall I once had!!). I love your hallway and the vase would be a nice addition, though I like the Autumnal one you have. The kiddies look super cute :)
When you have finished on your place, please pop over and help with mine x
The vase in your picture is better than the inspiration photo. The one you have seems like it's more "you". :-) Plus, that wall looks great!
Your grandkids (and your dad) are all adorable - great photos.
Not sure I'll get a post together today. It was my intention but our weather is decidedly NOT unseasonal and kinda rainy so I'm kinda bunkered in with the ibuprofen and Diet Coke. I'm enjoying reading though. Also, I am officially past the paperwork part of being hired and can be called to substitute as of this morning! YAY!
My entire sewing room is Benjamin Moore Spanish red, its been that color for 5 years and Im ready for a change too, red is awesome but Im antsy for a new color, maybe a creamy white!
What a darling picture of your father and grandson. Very special. Enjoy your painting and redecorating. Wish I had some style........
Aww, love those last 2 pics!
It must be renovation thursday! I just finished painting, painting and more painting and had the flooring done! love your photos, she looks precious before and after!
I think I need to go buy a Christmas craft magazine now. I´ve been holding out, but if you have, then so can I! Your hallway makeover really lightened that area up! A clear glass vase would lighten it even more.
We´re starting some renovation too and I want to have light grey walls. Then I saw an article in the paper about how grey is the new trend wall color (in Norway) and the article was titled Fifty Shades of Grey... Pervy!
Your grandkids are adorable!
I'd be happy to have temps in the 90s. It was in the 50s here today, and rainy. I like the vase....
Love the shelf! In the '70s, we had a long hallway that faced the front entryway, and my mom painted the facing wall a beautiful, rich red. I have had a special fondness for red accent walls ever since.
