I didn't really need to start a new project. I have a problem with starting new projects and then not finishing them. But all the scraps from
Swooning with Oakshotts were tempting me.
So I started the Marcelle Medallion quilt from
this book. Really. What choice did I have?
And the next border is flying geese. The trimmings from the Swoon quilt are the
perfect size. It's cosmic really. And I'm powerless to resist.
Linking up with
Lee. She keeps me motivated.

gorgeous!!
Just ONE MORE thing to add to my 'to-make' list. I love quilt pattern and I think this may be my favorite version so far. Loving your color and fabric choices!
What size is your medallion quilt? Love the colors. VP
Well of course you had to do it! Nice start at a medallion. Now if you were making the geese the rectangle/cut-off-a-triangle way, you'd have a new temptation when you finished this one.
I'd call it Kismet, that your leftover flying geese were a perfect fit!! I love your version of it- it is so YOU! ( BTW- How weird is this- my blogger dashboard does not show this post, but my Blog-lovin feed does????? Blog lovin is usually hours behind for me in Australia!!!)
Absolutely gorgeous. Much nicer than the one in the book.
Ooh looking just fabulous!
Wow! Very striking with the Oakshotts.
Gosh - Marcelle in Oakshotts...it's going to be stunning...well it already is!
Fantastic! Oakshot looks great in any pattern!
Wow - I've not even been remotely tempted to attempt the Marcelle Medallion but your version is so gorgeous that it makes me want to give it a try!
Love, love, love - and wow, that's awesome that you already have some of the cutting done because of your Swoon project! Definitely quilty kismet :)
I can't wait to start my own mercelle medallion, yours is absolutely beautiful.
Great Post! But you might just want to try having the holidays in cork, it would be really fun!
Wow! I really need to get that book, this quilt is calling to me :o)
Good for you Cindy. It will be gorgeous. I got as far as buying the book ; )
Stunning!!! Just stunning!
Beautiful.
I have enjoyed seeing your progress on Instagram! Genius idea to use your Oakshotts for this quilt. I have purchased the book also but am waiting until some other WIPs get finished before I tackle this one.
I like your Medallion better than all the others I've seen so far. The others all look too busy. The solids make a much "cleaner" looking block.
I love following your blog, or did I say that already...........lol
Soooo pretty.
It's looking really great--I also like that it isn't too busy. Many of the versions popping up are a bit too much for me.
Simply gorgeous. I also made use of my Swoon trimmings - it's really a shame that otherwise they would just be thrown away, and I'm sure there are some people who do that. Glad to see that you're using them up!
Absolutely stunning!!!
Hi! That's so beautiful! I can understand how you couldn't resist to start with that great pattern and fantastic fabrics! I would love to make this, too! x Teje
LOVE it!
OOOOhhhhhh! I LOVE this Medallion!! I really want to make one of these! I love the oakshott cotton you are using!! Looks wonderful!!
You must have some real patience to tackle a beautiful quilt like this.

It's looking beautiful! And so serendipitous that the Swoon trimmings worked perfectly for the flying geese!
Wow, there's a lot going on in that block! From the center medallion to each border. I give you a lot of credit for all this little bitty piecing. The colors are beautiful, especially in the center section.
Go with the Flow!!!! It is already stunning, from the looks of it!!!
You are the Oakshott queen!
Cosmic. Uh huh. You get an A+ for excuses ;o)
This is so very pretty
You are killing me with these Oakshotts! Beautiful block you created:)
Love, love, love how this is turning out!
Oh that is beautiful!
It's looking great so far. I really need to find some time to work on mine. The flying geese is what i have next too. :)
oh this is amazing!
I'm loving it. I have the same problem of starting projects. :-) I had a great aunt named Marcella. :-) Keep up the good work on this!
