I firmly believe that if you are going on an all-day date with your daddy, you need to be prepared. After all, girls need a place for the necessities of daily life, right? Mints, lip balm and a Starbucks card...
I made Charlotte the Zip and Go Bag by Erin from Dog Under My Desk. At about 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, it just the perfect size for an almost 8-year-old.
It has two separate zippered pockets. Charlotte loves purple, so rather than making an adjustable strap, I just measured the length she would need for a cross-body bag, and used purple webbing.
If you have never made one of Erin's patterns, they are full of photos and have excellent, detailed directions.
Our son, Aaron (Charlotte's daddy), is an optometrist. Could there be a cuter or more perfect fabric for the back of the bag? I think not...
Another picture. Just because.
And yes, the cute little Starbucks card pretty much says it all.
I'm linking up with Amanda Jean and with TGIFF. Have a lovely weekend.

What?! You're becoming a bag lady??? ;) It looks great! And believe it or not, Courtney picked out fabric Tuesday and I am starting one of those very same bags for her today! :) How long did you make the strap?
What a wonderful gift! I love this bag, so I think I need to make one too. I was impressed with how fast you put this together. Also love the goodies you got for Charlotte to put inside.
Really, really nice, Cindy! I have a bag pattern that's very similar, and it's the bag - sewn with selvages - that I carry around almost all the time. What I'm saying is that it's a good "big girl" bag too. Wish I had a little girl to sew for, like you and Lolly do. I struggle with not being jealous. So happy for you to have had a fun time at Gruber's. Who wouldn't with such nice quilters?! Hope you have a nice, relaxing catch-up weekend ahead of you.
very cute! And everything she would need!
This is absolutely darling! I know Charlotte will look adorable wearing this special bag.
She will be stylin'!
What a wonderful bag. I am now a follower.
I adore that bag :) love the double zipper
So cute....but is that Starbucks card for her or you!!?
Super cute and looks like you've thought of everything!
Utterly adorable! I would have adored this when I was 8 and I do now too!
Sweet. I almost never make the time to make smaller things. Now you have me wanting to make the Sew Together Bag.
