Friday Finish: Texas A&M

I started this quilt three years ago for my brother's daughter, Liz, who was a student at Texas A&M. I had planned it for her graduation. She graduated over two years ago. Hmmm. How I wish procrastination wasn't such an issue with me.

The Aggies fabric came from the Fat Quarter Shop and the rest came from my stash.

Oh, except the backing fabric, which is a favorite. The colors are just perfect to coordinate with the sports fabric on the front but adds a nice girly touch.
Isn't it awesome?
Darby surprised me by quilting the logo several times--she is the best!

It's on its way to Dallas. I really hope Liz likes it. (We don't see her nearly often enough so I hope she doesn't mind that I grabbed this picture off her Instagram feed--isn't she beautiful?)
I'm linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts, TGIFF and Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

Cool quilt! What a wonderful gift. I especially adore that backing fabric. I bet two nieces who are freshmen in college would love quilts from their aunt ;)

That is fabulous and the quilting is perfect. I'm sure that beautiful girl will appreciate it even if you think it is a bit late.

Love that logo! I made a giant A&M pillow in 2013 for my then 14-year old grandson (whose parents are both Aggie grads). Maybe I'll make the quilt when he graduates from A&M. :)

You're a very thoughtful Aunt Cindy. I'm sure she'll love it. I can't say I'll ever commit to making anything more than one quilt for each niece and nephew, and a birth quilt for grand nieces and grand nephews. That's plenty. And that saves me from having to beat myself up for being a procrastinator or not! :-)

Now this is fun! I love the quilted logo, and the fun backing to go with the front. Go Aggies!

Very sweet and I'm sure she won't mind the delay in receiving it.

I feel so much better after reading this! I started a quilt last spring for my nephew's high school graduation in June and was feeling awfully guilty that I am just now getting the binding on it! Good to know I'm not the only procrastinating auntie. ;)
