Really Random Thursday, 12/8/16

This will be a picture-heavy Really Random post since I have missed the last couple of weeks.

So going back to before Thanksgiving, Levi had his last soccer match. He's the cutie kneeling down on the far right.
These little ones didn't really pay much attention to the game...

On Thanksgiving morning, our son Aaron organizes a Turkey Trot, mostly church members/friends who can choose either a 2-mile walk or a 5Kwalk/run. All you have to do is show up at 8 a.m. and bring two items for the church food pantry. Gabe mostly walked with our good friend, Jill, who crocheted their very cute stocking hats. This is my new favorite selfie.
As usual, our Thanksgiving meal was fabulous. Charlotte made these delicious appetizers.

Thanksgiving is always my most favorite holiday, and this year we were treated to the music of a new local band, the Five Fireballs,
Aaron on tambourine, Charlotte on piano, Levi on violin...
Gabe (the bandleader and also the person who chose the name of the band) on percussion, and Ella on bongos.

Look for them coming to a venue near you.

The next day was my birthday, as our new Subaru liked to remind me. So weird...
Since Mark and Aaron were both reffing football that night, and Christa was also busy, I spent the evening with the grandkids. Charlotte made dinner for me (yummy spaghetti) and then we celebrated with leftover pumpkin pie.
Mark and I celebrated on Saturday. He made breakfast for me and had this beautiful bouquet on the table--the last roses of the season.
Of course, I love to play with the waterlogue app on my phone...
Someone had given him a gift certificate to an upscale restaurant in town, and we chose that night to use it. The meal was so very good...
Their eggplant napoleon is a popular appetizer.
 Mark had scallops and fettucini.
I had one of the specials of the night, sea bass.
They are famous for their bread pudding.

A week ago, Charlotte and Levi had their winter strings and vocal concert. It's always a highlight, considering they are just in grade school.
And now Christmas is just around the corner.
I love our retro white Christmas tree.
These are felt ornaments I made for our very first Christmas, circa 1973. They are now antiques. *sigh*
My sewing room decorations. See that cute troll in the background? Hand made by my cousin, Cathy. He is my new sewing room mascot.

The Fresno-Yosemite airport always decorates for Christmas. This year they have a beautiful gingerbread village.

Mark and I were going through some old pictures the other day. I wanted to remember some things from this wedding reception, when the appetizer tables, and all the serving bowls, were carved from ice! In August!

Instagram made a mosaic of everyone's nine most "liked" photos from 2016. Here are mine. Obviously, I like color. Just trying to live up to my name...
I will leave you with these words, as I try to get some sewing done before Christmas....
 Sounds like a true introvert...

And because spelling has been a big part of my life as a medical transcriber...

Have a lovely weekend.

Always love those quips! The "problems" one should read "chores" instead!

It sounds like a wonderful family filled time of the year at your house. Loved seeing all of the little ones and their creative endeavors.
