Flower Shop

Whew. That last post seemed a little heavy. But it was something I needed to write, if only for me.

But now I'm ready for something pretty. My friend, Nicole, just released her new quilt pattern, Flower Shop. To me, there is a very Mid Century Modern feel to it, which I love.

The blocks are huge, 24". I was given the chance to test the pattern for Nicole before its official release and I made a pillow for our family room.

The pillow form needs to be a bit bigger--so it doesn't look like I have cut off all my points. Ha!

I finally used some of my favorite background fabric, "Firefly Whisper" from Hello Bear by Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics. I have purchased yards and yards, and have been hesitant to cut into it.
I was also able to use some beautiful barkcloth from Gertrude Made for the backing.
Nicole will be having a quilt-along beginning soon. You can sign up for her newsletter and get all the details.  Now, please excuse me while I grab a book and enjoy my pillow.
