Hey, today's date is a palindrome.
Our Thanksgiving was fabulous! Mark's brother, Pete, and his wife, Jane, arrived on Monday before Thanksgiving, and their daughter, Rose, flew in on Wednesday.
Christa created this fabulous charcuterie table. It was gorgeous and there were so many yummy things to choose from.
Pete and Jane had made a pie with huckleberries (which are plentiful where they live--southeastern Idaho) and peaches (with a nice quilty piecrust design on top).
Aaron, Christa and the kids had not really spent time with Pete, Jane, and Rose (the last time was in 2014), so it was a wonderful time for them to get acquainted with close relatives. I'm sure it won't be long before Aaron and family plan a trip to the Yellowstone/Grand Teton area where Pete and Jane live.
On Friday, the five of us went to Carmel. We had purchased deli sandwiches and had a lovely picnic lunch while watching the waves.
Rose is such an artist. She enjoyed the warm weather while painting outside.
Because Gabe aspires to try his hand at watercolor, she then painted explicit instructions so he could try to paint the pomegranate himself.
I sent this quilt home with Pete and Jane.
Because Jane liked both the bright one and the more subtle arrows, I sent this one home with them as well.
The brothers...
Christa's side of the family celebrated Thanksgiving the next day. Gabe and Levi got to have a sleepover with their cousins, and had the treat of spending some time with puppies. I'll close with this picture--probably my favorite picture of Gabe. Ever.

I'm so thankful for my family. Spending time with them is the best gift I could ever receive.

It looks like it was a wonderful get together. I’ll bet they loved their new quilts. The sketched instructions is a piece of art itself. LOVE the picture of Gabe and the puppy.
Your Thanksgiving looks like a marvelous time, Cindy! I've been remiss about blog-reading/commenting because I was in Kansas City for ten days over Thanksgiving. It's wonderful to spend time with family, isn't it?! I am so impressed with Charlotte's ability to cook! That charcuterie table is a-m-a-z-ing! No one could possibly leave feeling hungry! Was all the food put out on butcher paper? As for the pies... yum! It's ironic that my 12 year-old grandson wanted to make pineapple upside down cake over Thanksgiving. We never got around to it, but since they're coming to stay with us for a week after Christmas, I'll be sure to rectify that! It's also great that you could give away two of your quilts. I fully appreciate what that feels like - when us makers have too many quilts. It's SO nice to have quilts that are WANTED! I love, love, love the arrow quilt that Jane picked. She has great taste. Happy belated birthday! It's just too perfect that you could celebrate with your grandies. Blessings.
