Welcome to Fall 2011 Bloggers' Quilt Festival. I'm so happy you stopped by!
The name of this quilt is California Ice Crystals.
I have always enjoyed kaleidoscope blocks. This quilt was inspired by a single piece of fabric designed by Paula Nadelstern:
All of the blocks were made by placing the kaleidoscope template on the same identical portion of the fabric eight times per block, and then positioning the template in another part of the fabric for the next block.
The spectacular machine quilting was done by my husband's cousin, Ione.
It was then donated to a quilt auction which raises money for Third World relief.
I'm not a "blue" person but I really love this quilt.
Thanks, Amy, for hosting this amazing show-and-tell twice a year.

Cindy, this is a magnificent quilt! And the quilting is perfect! How nice of you to donate it for a very good cause.
Your quilt is fabulous!! :o)
Wow, that is stunning!!! It needs to hang on a wall, it's such a gorgeous piece of art, wow!!! :)
That is just gorgeous!!!!
I love how it is all made from one fabric...but each block looks so different....fantastic choice of initial fabric.
Beautiful, Cindy! I love how these kaleidoscope quilts look, but they look so difficult to do, to cut and piece all those prints so perfectly. Yours is amazing!
Very pretty, Cindy. I made a quilt with this technique once.....just sent it off to Rwanda this spring. They are fun to make!
Blue is on of my favorite colors. Loved this quilt when I saw it at the MCC Sale. Beautiful!
On my way to the Hartland Quilt Retreat this week-end. Love to have you come some time.
I am catching up with my blogs. Neat quilts! Was cracking up at your last post, with the pictures at Butt corner! I love Cayucas! We went there a while back and just loved that charming town!!
Cindy, what a spectacular quilt!!! I AM a blue person and absolutely love this! It even matches the blue chairs in the room. Thanks for sharing!
This is one of my favorite quilts of yours... I love it! (And of course I 'am' a blue person.) Little did I know the work that went into making it! Amazing that it's all from one fabric!
Oh wow Cindy your fussy cutting on this is amazing, what a beautiful quilt
Absolutely stunning!!!
So, so beautiful! Wow!!
Fabulous quilt Cindy! I made a quilt like that once with Jenny Beyer fabrics! I still have the one my sister made! Very pretty! And very generous of you to donate it!
Gorgeous quilt! And I love the fabric that inspired you!
A beautiful quilt; the technique you used resulted in such stunning blocks that you would never think they all came from the same fabric. Wonderful!
Beautiful, Cindy! I've been wanting to try a kaleidoscope quilt and I think this may be the tipping point. Thanks for sharing it!
WOW!!! Really...WOW!!!!
I've never made a kaleidoscope quilt, but I have always admired them. Congratulations on such a lovely work of art.
What a quilt! I love how you made it. I am not a blue fabric person either but this is magnificent!
Wow, I bet that was very popular at the art auction! Apparently the quilt viewing public are most taken with blue and white quilts - it's the recommended colour choice for raffle quilts. Yours is just stunning and the quilting is beautiful, too. I'm going to send a friend here who has made several of Paula's patterns - she'll love it!
Wow, this quilt is amazing! I love to see the piece of fabric that inspired you. Looks like a lot of work, but what a rewarding project.
Absolutely stunning! I cannot imagine how precise your piecing technique is....!
Gorgeous. It reminds me of the porcelain that I brought back from Russia - the blue on white is so clean...
Gorgeous. I can see you have a lot of hidden treasures and I look forward to more photos like this. Maybe I can do something like this with that ornate fabric hiding in the back of my closet?
Anyway, it's amazing. Just amazing. Way to go!
This is such a stunning quilt!! The quilting is beautiful too! Such a wonderful donation gift!
How generous of you to have donated such a pretty quilt. You and Ione are a great team!
Wow, this is amazing Cindy, love it!
It's beautiful! I love how geometric your blocks became.
This is a great quilt, very good job!!
Adore this quilt! thank you for sharing. :)
Lovely quilt and kaleidascooe quilts are always stunning. Such a nice job you've done and ione quilted beautifully. Thanks for sharing and have a great day
Your quilt is so interesting and beautiful! It makes me want to try this type of kaleidoscope quilt.
This fabric is perfect for kaleidoscope. Yours looks great!
Un grande lavoro....fantastico!

I am always amazed by how different each block looks in these quilts.
It looks stunning.
I love the way this came out. Beautiful.
I am a blue person and think this is fantastic. I love the kaliedescopes!
Oooo! That's what happens when I open the link to your post. :D This is wonderful. Love the blues and the different results in the kaleidoscopes.
Oh, my! This is simply magnificent. You did an amazing job and the colors are so beautiful. Wow, I can't believe you could bear to give it up!
whoa! what a fantastic idea for a quilt challenge! that is a true kaleidoscope quilt.
I am a "blue" person and this is an amazing quilt! And to have such a talented quilter in your family is awesome. The quilts you donate each year are always so beautiful.
Jennifer :)
Wow. This quilt is so gorgeous. Thanks for sharing it -- and how nice of you to donate it to that auction! =)
That quilt is amazing!
wow, that is a huge quilt! The print is spectacular in its different pieces within each block.
That's really cool how you did that! Love the colors too!
What a fantastic quilt! I couldn't believe the blocks were all made from the same fabric. I hope it raised a lot of money.
This is spectacular! One of my very favorites of this show. Thank you so much for sharing it.
