By now, the Pantone color of the year, Tangerine Tango, is making the rounds. There is Tangerine Tango challenge on flickr. Fabric bundles available for purchase from a lot of different places. I probably don't need one (see below). There was an article in our local newspaper last week: "The color czars have issued a decree for 2012: Tangerine Tango is the hot hue for this year. What about 2011's Honeysuckle?...or Turquoise in 2010? Well, they're on the color crap heap, people. Move on....Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it."
Now I know for a lot of people, orange, no matter what it is called, is not a favorite. But you won't fine me complaining. In fact, I'm feeling hopeful about 2012. And prepared. Covering all my bases.
For when I need to leave the house:
I didn't want to mess up the cover, took it off and found this beautiful hard cover underneath.
On the wall in my sewing room (made by my glass artist husband--I named it "cremesicle."
New towels in the bathroom:
Actually I saw a picture in a magazine that had these colors. I told Mark I would like a bowl or something in these very colors.
Asked. And received:
See? Scraps aren't just useful for quilters! Most of my favorite things made by Mark involve scraps of glass.
He recently finished working on a kitchen remodel. The owners chose countertops with imbedded recycled glass. Really beautiful.
He enjoyed working with the homeowners, so he made a bowl out of glass scraps for them.
I think he's on to something here...
Oh. I wouldn't want to forget this (see above). My stack of tangerine fabric. Just waiting for a project. Maybe the Tangerine Tango challenge...
Out of curiosity. Would you want to live on this corner? I'm not so sure. Their story didn't end very well...

All really lovely stuff! And that tangerine pile of fabrics is just gorgeous. Yum!
Hehehe! I LOVE that corner! Reminds me of one of my favourite Dire Straits songs :-) Your hubby is a talented chap too!
Not only do I love Pioneer Woman and orange, I also love love love those glass bowls!
I love the beautiful glass bowls Mark makes...and the pile of tangerine fabrics...so pretty!
I love glass! Does your husband have a website?
the orange is growing on me! it's kind of like a new shade of red. it seems to be taking reds place, don't you think?
Those glass pieces are really stunning! I must say that I AM a orangy person.
Love this random post - all that orange! And the glass work is stunning - please pass on my compliments!
Those glass dishes are so amazing! Beautiful!
You need to check out the Orange Crush line of fabric by Alice Kenedy for Timeless Treasures. Hancock's of Paducah has it featured in the new catalogue....made into a wonderfully mouth watering "Merry Go Round" quilt by The Crazy Old Ladies.
Love the glass work!
Loved that last photo--Great way to wrap it all up.
We recently painted out house and I chose the same red for the front door as I did my "tomato soup" bathroom in the house. When we open the door and look at the color next to the white walls in our front hallway, it's red, sure enough.
But when you stand on the front porch, and see that Chinese red door surrounded by the creamy butter color we painted our house--yep. It's orangey. Or as we call it, persimmon. Maybe I should just say I was trying to be "with it" and call it Tangerine Tango?
Orange you fabulous! Love Mark's glass work and if I lived any closer I just might break in and raid your orange stash!! I'm slowly building mine. I hope I don't lose the orange bug before I make a quilt with it all!
Ohmygoodness. Those bowls? With the "scraps" of glass? To die for. TO DIE FOR!!
What a great post! I am an orange person and try to use orange in most quilt projects. I love the bowls. I feel the tango coming on...
Yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the randomess! Gorgeous bags! Orange has fast become my favourite colour :)
The glass is beautiful, how cute you can make things for each other!
Love all the glass, how beautiful, wish I had my own glass maker to hand!
indeed, your 'random' is awesome! love the pioneer woman n book cover as well, a new fabric idea perhaps for you!? and totally love the Romeo and Juliet signs just in time for Valentines day,,sigh!!
This plates and bowls are so colorful. It look really awesome.Thanx to share with us this good notes.
