Conclusion? After a while they all started to look the same. Which makes me think that it doesn't really matter so much about the arrangement. Although if you have a favorite, or one that simply does not work for you, feel free to chime in.
So let's move on:
I had to take all my Farmer's Wife blocks off the design wall, and they ended up in a pile on the floor:
just a few--there are close to 100 already!
And I started a quilt for a really good friend. She lives in a place where it is cold and she adores cats. This pattern is "Sliced Coins" by Don't Call Me Betsy. Highly recommended--super cute and super fast. An unbeatable combination.I wonder if it will take her as long as it took me to notice that "chronicle" is misspelled!
And two of my machines are in the sewing machine hospital. *sigh* It's so good to have a backup.
As usual, thanks to Lee, who does her best to keep us accountable week after week.
Oh, I almost forgot. Major destash of some of my fabric here. You should definitely check it out--you might find something you didn't even realize you needed!
My votes for number two, though I think it won't matter. This will be a great quilt!
ReplyDeleteOh I like 2 as well!
ReplyDeleteI like 2 and 7. But really, whatever you decide will be lovely.
ReplyDeleteNumber 1! because you put that greyish block in the middle!
ReplyDeletelove the sliced coins quilt- super pretty and love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI like number 2, but I have to admit to loking really hard to spot the differences. Either way it's going to be gorgeous finsihed!
ReplyDeleteI love the turquoise Swoon and because of that I love Nr. 2 ;) But you're right. It doesn't matter ;)) It's a great quilt!
ReplyDeletethat gave me a headache!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you conclusion of the Swoons. And I like a fast and good looking quilt pattern.
ReplyDeleteIn fact I'm going to publish one this Friday!
Oooh, love your fabric choices on that quilt you are making for your friend. That's going to be gorgeous, Cindy! As for the Swoon layout, I think you are right that they all work. If pressed, I'd say two. It's going to look fabulous all together!
ReplyDeleteI like number 2 also. It seems to be the most balanced but overall any way you arrange them, it will still be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think I like 2, 7 and 8 best but my eyes were starting to spin trying to compare them all. You are right...they all start to look the same!

ReplyDeleteI am loving that sliced coins quilt. Great colours :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right, after awhile, the layouts all start to look the same. At first, I was thinking numbers 2 and 3, but then it all blended together. I would say just pick one and go for it! (and don't sweat it)
ReplyDeleteLove your new quilt project! Boy, you sure have been quilting a lot this year. I look forward to the day when I have time to sew a quilt block together.
I think my head just rotated looking at all those swoons ;o)
ReplyDeleteLoving the pick-up-sticks farmer's wife, do you get to 'plough' through them now? :oD
Fab wee commissioned quilt though :o)
I think all the Swoon layouts are great....too hard to choose! Your sliced coins quilt is lovely........I'm going to add that to my list of quilts to make!
ReplyDeleteI want the one with lots of green in the center. just to see it.
ReplyDeleteI hope the machines get better quickly!
ReplyDeleteYour conclusion about the Swoon layouts made me chuckle, but honestly I think it's because they all look great!!
Love your Sliced Coins too, the fabrics are so cool!
xx
I'd like to see the bright green one in the middle.
ReplyDeleteI agree I think the swoons work in any combo.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the colours of your sliced coins! That's a pattern I always wanted to try :o)
ReplyDeleteI like 2, 5, and 7. I think the arrangements with the gray or black dominant blocks in the center suck all the attention to that spot. I suppose it matters for a wall hanging, or a bed spread, but not so much for a lap quilt. What is your planned use for this beauty?
ReplyDeleteThis is tough, but I vote for #3. The bright green one is tough to balance out with the rest. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteNow that I've shown you by my previous comment what an idiot I can be, let me just say that if I were the recipient of the Sliced Coins quilt, I would be honored and totally thrilled!! Seriously. :)
ReplyDeleteI like 1 and 2 best! I'm voting the black one off the island! ( to the back) its gorgeous but an attention stealer.
ReplyDeleteI love your coin quilt! It's great! I love the color combo especially.
ReplyDeleteYou know, after I scrolled through all the Swoons, I thought, "They all look a lot alike! LOL." And then you said it. They all look great.
I want to go check out your destash. I've been so busy, I missed it. Sorry!
