Several months ago, Elizabeth and Krista decided to do a project involving gingham. Elizabeth had found some gingham at a garage sale, and as often happens with quilters, that led to the idea, which led to today, where the three of us are revealing our individual gingham projects. And I can't wait to see what they came up with.
I got six blocks completed that weekend. Then set the project aside for some other pressing matters. This last weekend, realizing how close it was to July 4th, I finally got in gear and (nearly) completed the project. If I had
Mark is always so helpful with ideas when I can't make a decision. He helped me audition fabrics for binding, and actually talked me through the pros and cons of each one. He's got a great "eye"--some of the best quilting ideas come from him. We chose the one on the left.
Thanks, Elizabeth and Krista, for letting me play along. I'm excited to see what your gingham projects look like!
I hope you come back on Friday to see all 111 Farmer's Wife blocks--and there will be another great guest blogger.
Next Tuesday, there will be a progress post on the Fusion Blanket Crochet-Along. Sure hope I have some of it figured out by then!
I'm linking to WIP Wednesday.Happy 4th!

Gingham Granny rocks! I have a husband with a good eye too - they come in handy here and there ;).
The granny quilt looks fabulous!
Lovely zingy citrus colours coming through
Your Gingham Grannies are Great! So will hubbie be given equal billing more often? I had fun with my gingham too!
Just wondering what prairie stitching is?? But what a great project!
Isn't it great what you can do with a few 'found' scraps!!
Happy 4TH!
Love your Gingham granny squares.
Cute granny squares, and I think the binding suits perfectly!
I love your gingham grannies!
How cute! My Cowboy helps me pick colors all the time. He's so good at it, I'm not sure I can do it by myself anymore!
What a lovely, lovely quilt!
Well, you will be far ahead of me on the Fusion. I am waiting for my order to arrive.
We have been 60 hours without power in 90+ degrees and humid, so a bit toasty. Now I have laundry and grocery catch up like crazy! An empty fridge and freezer needs to be filled. Piles of laundry need to be washed and dried. Glad the AC is working today!
Love your gingham project!
Groovy granny!
Happy 4th July xxx
I love what you did with the granny squares - so pretty!
Loving your gingham grannies, totally reminds me of primary school uniform summer dresses!
Love gingham and grannies, so the combination of the two is a keeper!
Oh those grannies. They make my heart go pitter-patter!
Love your Granny Cindy!! Fabulous. Is it coming to MN for show and tell?
LOVE granny loves Gingham! Can't wait to see more of your Crochet fusion project, I'm sure it will be great!
This looks fabulous! I love what you did with the ginghmas. Don't they just have a mind of their own? And you made it work fabulously. Ah, Cindy. Myou are a Master Quilter!!
:). E.
I sure like how your blocks turned out. I'll look at Gingham with a different eye again.
I'm loving it! I am slightly behind due to storms, power outages and work but I plan to have mine finished and a post up tonight (still on the 4th, right).
Yours is so pretty.
I love this take on grannies!
Looks like a fun project. You sure whipped this one up fast! I really loved the soft colors you used.
Beautiful! I like the fabrics you chose to go with the gingham.
Great gingham project! Gingham and grannies just go together!

Gingham is right up there with polka dots in my book....Never met one I didn't like! I just purchased a little stack of ginghams at quilt guild on Tuesday. Your project makes me want to cut into them for sure, Cindy.
Ooh, love the gingham grannies - well done.
That binding was the perfect choice. I love it. And I love the quilt!!!
