So then I started another little project with Oakshott's latest range,Impressions, a set of fat 1/8ths shot with white, making them all lovely pastels.
Does this ever happen to you? You visualize something in your head, do all the cutting, start the construction. And then realize it.is.not.going.to.work. Yeah, that's where I am at this point. Frustrating... Next time I will put the "vision" on paper before I start cutting.

Check us out!!! Number ONE and Number THREE! Woohoo! We rock.
And you especially rock with your Oakshotts. Man--thou almost dost persuade me. . .
That Marcelle Goes to the Circus is stunningly beautiful. Add that to the list of Quilts I Must See.
Okay, now we can go to bed, right?
:) Elizabeth
Yes, indeed. 'night...
Every time I see your medallion progress... I get closer and closer to (1) starting my own medallion, and (2) buying oakshotts!!
Ohhh Your Marcelle looks gorgeous... And of course I know how it is to start a project and wonder how could I start this...
Marvelled is - well simply put - fantastic. Great borders and the colors are so rich. This is a quilt to bookmark :)
I love your Medallion@ the Circus! And your new fabrics are very pretty! Good luck with this project- maybe some sleep brought some clarity?!
Your Medallion quilt looks fabulous! Fingers crossed you figure out the new project!
Those orange crosses on the outside border are WONDERFUL! They virtually sparkle. It is movement perfection. Quilting overlooking the beach...no more perect place to be.
The quilt looks amazing! Love all the colours!
Your quilt is GORGEOUS! Can't wait to see it all quilted!
Really just wow! It is amazing.
Gasp! I LOVE LOVE it!!! So gorgeous.. can't wait to see it quilted. WOW! :)
Stupendous...and passing it to Krista will take it to a completely stratospheric level of amazingness! She did one of my quilts and it was the best decision I ever made. Can't wait to see what she does to it.
Good luck with your quilt plans Cindy. It happened to me on my very first large quilt...sort of the same. I had all the pieces out before starting to sew a thing. Realized later, I used one of the smaller templates for the larger piece. I was devasted!! But took an 1/8 inch seam allowance instead of 1/4 and it went well....still have it!!! lol
It's just beautiful! I can't wait to see it quilted. I am feeling the need for more Oakshott now!
Love the motion you've created in this piece. Fabulous. I don't get too discouraged when things don't quite work out. I had a Bargello that didn't work for my plans, I put it up on my design wall for a couple weeks and it's turned into something far more fabulous than it was intended for. Just need to let them breath a bit longer!
I love your version of the Marcelle! The use of the Kaffe stripes is just perfect.
Fabulous quilt! AWESOME!
Esther
Yes, it does happen to me. I don't think putting on paper would help me. I like the color combo and hexies you have going on. I want to get some hexies ready to sew for some sitting I have to do tomorrow.
I totally LOVE your quilt. It's amazing. YOU are amazing!
Quite an explosion of color with this project! My favorite part is the center star block.
Your Marcelle quilt is amazing! I love it with the shot cottons!
Wow! Your quilt is so beautiful! I finally took the pattern out of the book, but I am intimidated by the Y seams. Oh we'll. I'll just come back here and stare at yours ; )
I'm intrigued by your hexie project. Whatever it is, it will be great.
The Marcelle quilt is beautiful! I love the colors. Hope you get your next project all figured out.
Your circus quilt is beautiful! And those pastels will make such a pretty quilt, I hope it comes together for you soon
Your Marcelle circus quilt is gorgeous - it looks amazing in mostly solids/shot cottons.
Cindy- SO SO SO beautiful!!!!!! This makes me want to try the pattern. Is it free?
I love 'Marcelle goes to the circus' and think it's stunning! I hope you work out the kinks in your latest Oakshott project x
I love the colours and fabric you have chosen. It's stunning
Cindy it is incredible!! And I'm sure you can magic up something with what you've cut :)
I just bought the Marcelle Medallion pattern and I've been pondering a color scheme - I love your choices, just beautiful!
LOVE!
Love Marcelle, and the use of Oakshott! I have the pattern and haven't started it yet....also have a Colourbox of Oakshott....hmmm!I'm inspired!
Wow! You really made tracks with this quilt...finishing it so quickly! It's just gorgeous, Cindy!!
Awesome!
That "Circus" grabs you. Wonderful, brave you!
It's been a year of me trying to get started on the wedding quilt for my already married son and DIL. I finally realized it was the colors just weren't right together. Luckily I hadn't cut very much out. Hang in there!
Ha, love the title! The circus looks fab :o)
The Medallion in Oakshots is beautiful. This is the best one I've seen. It appeals to me most n the semi solids of the Oakshots.
