I'm a homebody. So I surprised even myself by doing an uncharacteristic amount of traveling from May through this past week.
It started with going to quilt market in Portland with Mark.
We had such a good time, enjoying the city which we love so much.
Introducing Mark to one of my favorite bloggers.
Seeing the quilt I made for my first published quilt pattern still a part of a booth exhibit.
I was home for a little over a week and then flew to western Kansas with friends, George and Cheri. I stayed with one of my best friends of nearly forty years,
George and Cheri visited with Jessie in her new native habitat, which involves a lot of windy days (I got to spend some fun time with her as well).
Then our friends flew out from southern Minnesota with their three grandchildren. We went to Kings Canyon National Forest to see the big trees
and then off to San Francisco.
Then I spent a long weekend quilting with close friends just outside of Yosemite. We got a lot of sewing done, along with lots of good conversation and food.
Aaron,Christa and the grandkids went camping up in Kings Canyon, so we drove up to see them for part of a day, long enough to share some ice cream.
Mark and I went to San Francisco for a day, spending some time on Pier 39 and then off to a Dodgers-Giants game.
Nearly two weeks ago, I flew to Minnesota for a quilting retreat, my third year spent sewing and laughing with some amazing women, who have become good friends (Toni, the one with the cute headband, doesn't have a blog. What??)
Then off for a few days in northern Minnesota to stay with my cousin and her husband--they live about thirty minutes from us here in California but are building a cabin in Minnesota.
It still involves an outhouse and outdoor shower--something I never thought I could adapt to so quickly!
I have had a wonderful time.
I'm glad to be back home.
Even though my sewing room now looks like this...
Welcome home, right?

Wow, you HAVE been traveling a lot these past few months! So many places I would love to go to. I hope you get some down time at home so you can enjoy a little summer. Welcome Home!
I can barely keep up with you ladies on GroupMe and Instagram!!! Welcome Home and so blessed to be someone on your trips this year!!! LOVE
We are so glad that you made it back! Will be wonderful to see you again. Unpacking is the absolute worse part of travel!
What fun galavanting!! It looks like lots of good times :)
Have fun sorting out your sewing room! x
Well, lots of 'frequent flyer points' I guess! Welcome home, and good luck tidying out that sewing room!
It looks like you have had a very memorable summer! Lots of fun times amongst all the traveling. Glad you got to visit so many friends!
Wow. That sure was a lot of traveling but it sounds like you had a great time. But being back home is great too. I always look forward to sleeping in my own bed.
Wow, what a summer you've had! Looks marvellous!
Glad I got to be one of the people you traveled to spend time with! Great post.
Welcome home! Looks like you had a great time. Looking forward to seeing what comes out of that sewing room : )
Welcome home--glad you had so much fun! And about your sewing room--wow!!! Lol! :)
The traveling around and the fun visits are great, but there is no place like home - laundry, cleaning, shopping, etc.
Welcome home indeed :o) I've just worked out I've spent the last 10 weekends away from home at least part of the time, often most of the weekend, then a couple of weeks in full, and another other few days as well. I'm looking forward to going nowhere this weekend ;o)
There's no place like home eh!
Yea! I am glad you are home again- missed seeing you in my blog reader! I hope you had a great trip and that you are home to stay for a while now!
Loved following your blog post of the roads most traveled this summer. But REALLY enjoyed our time together on the road least traveled, in northern Minnesota. What a blessing and delight you are to me. thanks for sharing yourself with us!
LoL, I've seen days like that in my room too! Looks like you've just had a fantastic time. I'm so glad and glad you're back home too. I always miss home no matter how much fun I'm having in the world, there's just no place like it!
What a wonderful trip!
Wow! I say you need a rest from all the vacationing! How fun!

Where did you say "home" is? I'm not sure what state you really live in Cindy. You make me look like a real homebody.
It looks like you had the perfect mix of travel with family friends and quilting all mixed in together! I'm a homebody too... Love to travel but always glad to come home as well. Enjoy!
OMG! I can't believe all the traveling you've done! Obviously you don't have house pets that need attending! So glad for you to have gotten together with retreat friends. It's just bizarre that you know Doris, who I know so well. It's weird how those things happen. I hope to meet René someday, especially since we live only an hour or so from each other! Glad you are back home now, but I don't envy you trying to find places for all your loot. Hope you get to dig in and not have to come up for air any time soon!
Uhhhh....is there a sewing machine under there someplace! What a jet setter you are, Cindy!
Haha! My sewing room looked like that, too! I spent some time cleaning and got it straightened up a little. Too bad I just have too much stuff for my room. I still can't get it quite organized. Missing you!
