I knew instantly that it needed to become a quilt. I gathered a lot of my neutral/low volume scraps, some Kona cotton and some Essex linen, and started working on some blocks.
Four different, but similar, blocks.
The very fabulous Krista Withers did the machine quilting.
So remember--inspiration is all around you.

Oooh, perfect, love it!
Awesome! I love it when a quilt works out that way. Nice job!
Fabulous! Such a great design, congrats on the publication!
Ooh! I love this! I love it even more than the rug! Good job!
Wow! Congrats on the publication; what a gorgeous quilt; I enjoyed hearing the story behind the design.
That is a fabulous design, Cindy! Beautiful!
Hey, I saw that quilt in the magazine and loved it. It is in my pile of projects to do.
I love seeing more pics of it and the quilting is amazing as well. Way to go!
I love this pattern. I think your fabric/color choices just make it wonderful! Congrats on the publication.
You've been hiding this ! : ). I love it so much! After Market last year Katja ordered that magazine for the shop and we have never got a copy ; ) I can't find it anywhere either. It's just gorgeous Cindy, well done and good on you for being published again .
Oh! Wooow!!! You are famous! LOVE it!! (Way to keep a secret, sister!)
Cool idea for inspiration. And what a great way to interpret your inspiration. Love those pops of color. Congrats on getting this published! That's so awesome!
Hi! This is gorgeus and you had fantastic idea! x Teje
it's fabulous!
What a wonderful quilt, even better than the inspiration rug! Congrats on being published!
That's so cool.
Amazing job on this quilt. It's gorgeous.
Wow, just like the real thing, great job!
Another good source for patterns are the runners in hotel hallways. And some of them make good free motion patterns too. Love your interpretation!
Very cool quilt. I really love the inspiration for this quilt.
Wow! Gorgeous rendition!
You are one of the best for finding inspiration in unusual places! This is awesome, Cindy, and congrats on the magazine! You've done such a beautiful job.
Love those pops of color, really neat idea! Great quilt.
I love it!
What a fabulous design! Congratulations on your publication, Cindy!
WaHoo Cindy! Fabulous quilt. Somehow I missed this one. Must not have picked up a winter issue. Isn't it fun to find design in unexpected places and be able to translate it into a great quilt?
Watch this video, share it with as many people as you can. this changed how I perceived gender issues.

What a wonderful quilt!! I love the way the colour pops against the low volume braids. It's a great quilt for a winter publication too, it has a wintery look about it.
You are The Best! I love how your quilt turned out. If I remember correctly, you were playing around with ideas the last time I saw you, and now here it is-- a completed, AND published quilt. A-may-zing! Love this--good job!
Elizabeth
I love the quilt!
