Rally Random Thursday, 3/10/16

First of all, I want to thank all of you who stop by here, whether on a regular basis, or just now and then. Lately, I have had quite a few people who regularly comment, and I would love to reply to these comments, I find out they are no-reply commenters,
So if you are not sure whether you fall into this category and/or you wonder why you faithfully leave comments and no one replies, here is a good tutorial on how to change your settings.

And now for my week in review.

Saturday morning dawned nice and rainy. We desperately need all the rain we can get, but it also made us a little nervous that we wouldn't be able to have our Grandpa and Grandma date with our 4-year-old grandson at the zoo.
The rain cleared long enough to spend the morning at the zoo.

There is a new section in the zoo that Grandpa and I had not yet seen, even though Gabe has been there a couple of times, so he was an excellent guide. We have a very small tax, .01 percent, that goes to The Chaffee Zoo. Over the years countless improvements have been made.

There is a new reptile house. No WAY I will ever see if any improvements have been made. The only way to improve it, in my opinion, would be to level it. I don't know what the old one looked like and there is no possible chance that I will see this one either. But Grandpa was more than willing to take Gabe inside.
But I was able to sit on this lizard-y sculpture for a quick photo.
We made our way past the flamingos. I always made Gabe's daddy pose in front of the flamingos too, so he is carrying on the tradition.
We checked his height next to the height of a newborn giraffe.
And checked out the inside of a hippo, his brother's current favorite animal.
And measured his wingspan next to that of the endangered California condor.
Then it was on to the newly opened African Adventure, an amazing part of the zoo which really gives the impression that you are on a safari.
One of the coolest things is this jeep, made just for great photo ops. The front part of the jeep is on the other side of the glass, but it gives the impression that you are right there with the animals.
Feeding time for the animals:
And finally, feeding time for us. It was such a great morning.
On Sunday, Charlotte and Levi played in the Piano Celebration.
Check out that cool logo
They both take lessons from my mother, who is 88 and still an excellent teacher. They did so well, and they each received a medal.
Charlotte came prepared with "music" on her fingertips. Isn't that cool?
Amazing hair. Gabe has such interesting "low lights," something I've never seen before. Oh, and eyelashes.
Ella's 2-year-old natural curls.
Also I did some sewing. I'm back to working on my EPP hexies,
along with being all caught up on bee blocks, and it's not even the middle of the month yet!
And yes to this.
Hope your week was a good one too.

I haven't been to the zoo in forever! Little Ella's curls......
I don't blame you about the reptiles either! Yuck. Your bee blocks are gorgeous. I'm going to finish the last two letters in my word today and hopefully get started on the churn dash .
Happy stitching!
