Friday Finish: Alice's Swedish Ex

After making the first version of My Swedish Ex using all solids, I was itching to make another quilt using prints. I had just gotten Rifle Bond's Alice in Wonderland collection. The colors were beautiful and there was ample opportunity for a lot of fussy cutting. Try as I might, I could not make a completely "print" version and ended up adding a lot of solids as well.

At the end of August, we went to Huntington Lake for the day to visit friends. I took Alice's Swedish Ex along for a photo op.

It was a beautiful day and the view across the lake was spectacular.

When we were part of the manager group at Lakeview Cottages, several of us had kayaks named after us. The "Cindy Lou" is still part of the fleet and gets used every summer.

For the backing, I used this really great blue buffalo check.

The quilting was done, as usual, by the fabulous Darby Myers.
