Really Random Thursday: 1/4/18

For the fourth year in a row, we have rented this cool beach house in Oceano Dunes, on the central coast.

We arrived here yesterday. It sprinkled off and on. During the off times, it was beach time.

We were rewarded with a gorgeous sunset.

This morning, Charlotte and I drove into Pismo to take our pictures in one of those photo booths. We did it last year as well, so I guess now it's a new tradition.
Also today good friends, Jason and Jane, along with their kids, Grace and Jeremy, arrived, along with Stacie. I love this girl and her funny faces.
We had more rain. During those times, it was game on or reading in the house.

During any breaks in the rain, it was time to dig in the sand or eat lunch on the deck.

Gabe told me that he wanted to try wax bottles. They seem so retro so I was surprised he even knew about them. I was able to find some. Gabe seemed to like them.
Ella for the most part found them "disgusting."
As in past years, we headed to San Luis Obispo for dinner--pizza this year.
Bubblegum Alley always seems less disgusting to the kids than the adults. Ugh.
The candy store sells salt water taffy in every flavor.
As well as some pretty questionable soda flavors.

We're hoping for more sun and less rain tomorrow. No matter what, it will be fun.

I just love how you do this as a family - such great memories being made no doubt. My recollection of those wax bottles is that Ella is right, but hard to compete with an entire store of cross pollinated foods and flavors. Wishing you sunshine over the next few days.

I was smiling and chuckling at all your experiences and photos, until the last one! Ugh! Gross! Disgusting! Now I must go eat leftover Christmas cookies from the freezer to get rid of the imagined flavor in my mouth. LOL
