Really Random Thursday, 6/18/20

There is really very little to post this week. I'll start with this, because it is important and ongoing.
Mark has started reading White Fragility, which I plan on beginning soon as well. And my hairdresser also recommended Me and White Supremacy. Have you been reading? Do you have some recommendations?
The Fresno Chaffee Zoo opened last Friday, and we decided we needed a change of scenery. We have season passes but were also required to make a reservation. We reserved a time at noon on Monday, so we could have lunch. Things are different, of course, in the age of COVID-19. No longer can you go through a line and order a custom salad or sandwich. All the food is already boxed up. No fountain drinks--only bottled water and Pepsi. And beer.

But the animals were in full display, so the visit seemed nearly "normal."
I also appreciated their social distancing markers.

However, the fact that practically no one wore masks, except for workers, pretty much irritated me. Come on, people. You are protecting other people by wearing them. Be thoughtful. Wear a mask.

I'm doing a little EPP here and there. I think that center square in the one with fried eggs is too white, so am thinking about replacing it with a creamier square.
As I said, not much going on. Christa's mother replaced some succulents in this pot (because she is a pro at this).
Anyway, I got out the macro lens for my iPhone (an add-on lens by Moment) and took these shots. I really love the Moment macro lens.

And to end on a light note...

Your macro lens photography has me wanting something like that since I love close up detail shots . . . especially of leaves and flowers. If only the wind would cooperate when I'm trying to get a shot. Our zoo also reopened and we have lots of new babies to see but no plans to go just yet. No book recommendations but I've been doing lots of online reading and learning.

That macro lens is great! I love the detail it gives. The social distancing signs are great too.

You wield that macro lens like a pro. Beautiful shots. I'm currently annoyed with a local business that is supposed to require masks and isn't. I know the owner personally and am trying to decide how I want to approach the issue because it's honestly saying, "We don't care about you." You still managed a pretty great meme, too. Ha-ha!
