I began a new project and I'm enjoying it so much--a welcome change from months of not having the creative energy to work on much of anything. You can never go wrong with Essex linen and Oakshott shot cottons.
Oh, Fresno. Your temperatures never make me happy in August. It makes me irritable when my phone gives a forecast like this.
Here's a question: You see those Sunday and Monday temperatures--110 and 109 degrees? Why didn't it say HOT, even though Tuesday 110, Wednesday 109 and Thursday at 108 were HOT. Hmmm.
Oh wait. It WAS hot on Sunday, hotter than the paper predicted. Ugh.
All this excessive heat and lightning strikes have caused so many fires in northern California. Last night about 6:30 p.m., our air was brown and the sun was a bright red dot. I've never seen anything like it.

Love your flowers. Double delight is one of my favorite roses too. My most favorite that we have here, is Mr. Lincoln. He is a red rose and the only one still here from when my sister bought the house in 1996. She is only the third owner I believe. The architect lived here and then another family for years, and then her. She had about 17 different roses, but we lost 2 this year. We will replace them next winter. Love you Dahlias! And I thought we were too hot! I think the thing that is wearing is that it's hot for so long, for a string of days (9 days and counting down here of over 100 degrees). Creepy pictures of the sun--so sorry about all the smoke in your area. It's also hard to get excited to do anything when the sky outside looks like mud. Fun to see you at the schoolwork area--are the grandchildren coming over to your house for school? Stay cool!
Gorgeous flowers! I think even the weather people tire of seeing the same thing again and agian. We had one guy that used to just put up "M.O.T.S." in the summer = MORE OF THE SAME. And you left me with a giggle or two, as always.
