Really Random Thursday, 2/4/21

 Hello, February.

First of all, I want to thank our friend, Candy, an avid wildlife photographer from southern Minnesota, for supplying the name of the bird in our yard--a Eurasian Collared Dove.

Last Thursday, Mark checked our rain guage and we had received 4+ inches of rain in a week, 3 inches of that in two days. It was crazy. Not quite forty days and forty nights, but still a lot of rain for us in the central valley of California. And now there is no rain to be seen anywhere in the forecast. Again.

On Monday, it was feeling decidedly more spring-like, so it was time for Mark and Levi to fertilize the roses.

My friend, Erika (@hello.erikabea), posted some of her favorite things in her sewing room. I was happy to see that cute sewing machine ornament I sent made the cut. :)

Just an idea to file for future use. If/when we are allowed to visit friends again, that is...

Do you do handwork around the house? I do most of mine while sitting in a corner of the couch. I try to keep an eye on my needle at all times, but sometimes you better watch where you sit and/or put your feet.

Haha. So true. Back in the day, I used my dad's reel-to-reel to make my playlist!

Are you planning to watch Super Bowl on Sunday?

Does this mean Bernie won't be watching?

For our beer-loving son...

Balance. The name of the game.
Have a good weekend.

As usual, a wonderfully humorous and thoughtful look at life. I'm still thinking about that decluttering bit. I think the most fun would be thinking about the discussion that goes on after it's found. First, how long before everyone in the house realizes it wasn't put there by someone else, and then the discussion about "when they got it" or where it "came from". Ha, ha, ha. Meanwhile, I'm so relating to that lost needle. We used to have two cats and I had to pounce and look relentlessly if I ever dropped a pin or needle. I mean, you know they would find it... if I didn't find it with my bare feet first. Have a great weekend.

More winners in the meme department. They always give me a good laugh every Thursday. Thank you for that. I'm trying to envision decluttering by secretly leaving things at a neighbors house. Justin and I do something similar sometimes with an object from the house. I give him something that maybe I think we can get rid of. Next thing I know it shows up under my pillow or in my studio. Then I move it into his space and it continues to pop up.

ha ha! LOVE your de cluttering idea! I have a few choice friends and relatives that I could try that with :-). We have snow and this morning beautiful frozen fog on the trees! Went for a walk in the magical sunshine! But, 10 - 15 cm of snow for tonight and down to -17C overnight next week and below 0C all week next week. Can't believe you're fertilizing roses lol

These always make me smile. Our son in SLO got 9” from that storm...made the national news. Wish we could get more, but as long as the Sierras do, we’ll be fine. 😉

I don't know how you manage to find such apropos funnies, but you do a good job of sharing the best. I'm especially liking the one about 2021. The trial period wasn't what I expected and "I'm DEFINITELY not interested." Nothing about this year feels good - yet. I sure hope that changes when more vaccines become available. I'm about tapped out.

This post made me smile, too! Thanks for the fun. I love the one about "donating" to relative's houses. My daughter has made me promise not to bring over one more heirloom to her place--they are overrun!
