Really Random Thursday, 11/18/21

I can hardly believe Thanksgiving is one week from today. Christmas seems to be popping up everywhere! Thanksgiving is my very favorite holiday and I just want to savor it before the hustle and bustle of Christmas begins.

Do you feel this way too? Or is your tree already up and decorated? No judgment.

I've been remaking a quilt, something I have not ever done before. It has gone from this...
to this...
But it really deserves its own separate post.

I sent this to Aaron and Christa the other day. I'm sure most parents feel this way at some point.

Have you begun (or finished) Christmas shopping? We don't do much for Christmas in the way of gifts, but I always get everyone socks. I always buy from Bombas (a little pricy but worth it--and they donate one pair to the homeless for every pair purchased). With all the different styles (ankle, calf, no-show, etc.) I want to make sure everyone gets their favorite. So I sent out a text. It took me a second to get the "dad joke" but yet, there it was. Haha.

I'm nearly finished with the bit of shopping for the grandkids. Yay!

True...

Happy pre-Thanksgiving weekend!

I'm with you on the "let's take a breath and celebrate Thanksgiving" before jumping into Christmas. No judgement here, either, just a preference to give Thanksgiving it's due. Have a good one!

So true about those ads. It gives me the creeps and is partly why I haven't been using social media much. I love Christmas but never decorate until after Thanksgiving. Can't wait to celebrate with a baby this year. We're all getting away for a few days in the mountains. Your second quilt version looks wonderful. Love the background color. Will wait to hear what happened to the first one ? ? ?

Our Thanksgiving in Canada is usually 1st or 2nd week of October which is a lovely time with the weather usually just starting to cool and the leaves starting to turn. It must be tough having your holiday so close to Christmas. Funny how every country is different. Cheers everyone and enjoy your holiday.

This year everything seems at glacial pace, so I'm happy to go through Thanksgiving before turning on the Christmas music and getting out our 3 foot tree. Can't wait to hear why you are re-doing your quilt. Great memes!

We did almost forget about Thanksgiving. But I invited everyone over so it is on this year.

I’m all for waiting and enjoying Thanksgiving too. Christmas decorations don’t start here until the first week in December.

The first sign you posted is spot-on... and I DO pass judgement on those who decorate (too) early! Let's enjoy Thanksgiving instead of wishing away these weeks in November! I never have, and never will put up a Christmas tree (only one; not six) until the second week of December. Your quilt remake is looking really good! I think I prefer the colors of the second one. I admire you for keeping Christmas gifts on the light side. With everyone being so far away, we do too, and in fact, are thinking of giving only money this year. Saves the hassles and cost of trying to mail gifts in time. Hope you enjoy Thanksgiving day! I am really looking forward to it!
