Really Random Thursday, 6/27/24

Going back to the beginning of the month. Mark and I celebrated our anniversary at a teppanyaki restaurant. We had been given a gift certificate so we could splurge for filet mignon and lobster. We even received a little celebratory sparkler.

Flowers seen on a daily walk around the neighborhood.

While Aaron and Christa were in Nashville, the kids stayed with us for a week. They were busy during much of the day but we tried to do a couple of fun things while they were here. I think we would all recommend Inside Out 2.

Awhile back when we knew they would be here, and I was trying to find something special to do, I started getting information about a concert called Candlelight. The basic idea is that a string quartet plays music in a unique venue with only candlelight (the safe kind--no open flame). The quartet was doing music by Taylor Swift, so I ordered tickets. The concerts are only an hour long. The venue was beautiful, on the tenth floor of a building downtown. Tickets aren't exactly cheap, but would we do it again? Not sure. It was sold out for two performances but I think we would probably agree that it was kind of a "been there, done that" concert. I'm glad we did it, and I think Charlotte, being a Swiftie, enjoyed it. We went out for ice cream afterwards, and that was fun for everyone.

The other highlight of the week was that Levi's friend, Jackson, shaved most of his hair off. I actually like it. He's a lifeguard and I'm sure it's a lot cooler.

They all came back to our house for In-n-Out burgers. Teenage boys...so much fun.
The weekend was hot, and now it has cooled down for a few days. But looking at the forecast ahead, by next Saturday it's supposed to be 112 degrees. Yikes!

Happy Anniversary! We've considered going to one of those candlelight concerts here. Just haven't made the effort yet. I don't know how you do that kind of heat without melting. When it's in the 90s here it's too much for me.

I Cannot believe how big these 4 have gotten. You have always been great at finding different things to do with the kids. Levi sure looks different with his head shaved. Yummmm to ice cream. You'll want lots more of that in the weeks to come. Happy Anniversary.

Happy anniversary! Your dinner out looks like a very exciting way to celebrate! What a thoughtful gift for you two. It's nice that you're doing things with your grandchildren. Makes me miss mine.
