At the end of July, Charlotte took a beginning sewing class at Authorized Vac and Sew, taught by Jenn Rossotti of Ginger Peach Studio. Jenn was kind enough to let me attend class with Charlotte as well.
The students, ages 7-11, started by making a drawstring bag. Charlotte chose this fun emoji fabric.
Class picture with the teacher:
Of course, before we got this great picture, we had to promise that they could take a crazy picture. It might be my favorite of the two.
There were several classes, and after all were completed, there was a fashion show, complete with a red carpet.
I hope this has developed an awareness for Charlotte that you don't have to wear what is on the racks in the stores--you can choose your own fabric and make something that really fits your style.
Charlotte made her own pillowcase for her upcoming week at camp. The classes definitely paid off. :)
This is a picture of Gabe's feet, because I always want to remember how he beats to his own drum--different flip flops--on purpose.
This happened during the month as well. Aaron and Christa climbing Half Dome in Yosemite. I'm glad I didn't see this picture until they were safely home.
And then Mark and I were off to Minnesota.

Looks like Charlotte had fun in her class. The fashion show is such a cute idea too. Tell her to keep sewing.
I am sew happy to see you blogging again. I missed your weekly blogs and seeing the kids, the quilts you were doing and just life in general.
Welcome back to blogging! I missed you. Looks like Charlotte is enjoying sewing, and I'm with you, I would not want to see that last picture before my loved ones got home either! Yikes!
