What I really mean is that hopefully the spell of nothing very quilty here is coming to a close. Look--fabric combinations. Mark is holding down the house this weekend while I go to the annual quilting retreat in the mountains.
(sorry for the garbage can--PicMonkey wasn't loading pictures when I needed it to...)
I was sick (again) last weekend. We had plans to have dinner at our friends' house, but instead she rang the doorbell and left a care basket. So thoughtful. These are now blooming. They are beautiful. They smell horrible.
When the boys comes over, the family room goes from no toys to lots of toys in under five minutes. I don't care one little bit...
Okay, I'm off to sew. Pictures next week!

Your living room looks like mine when I have only ONE grandson visiting! And I don't care one little bit either. Hope you are feeling 100 percent again very soon. I bet that quilt retreat will do wonders for you!
How wonderful! I hope you have a great time. I'm sorry you got sick!
Glad you are feeling over the slump, the Oakshotts are looking lovely enough to cheer anyone up xxx
Have a wonderful time, I hope you're fully recovered?
oooh! are those shot cottons? Looking good! :-) I have surrendered my bonus room upstairs to my boys. The lego is sprawled everywhere (wait till your grandkids get into lego...the little bits hide...ouch!) but they are engaged and building daily. Hope you have a great time at your retreat.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with your cottons! It is hard fitting sewing round real life!
Your place looks like mine when the kiddoes are here. Love the pear trees, but they do smell nasty.
Your granddaughter looks like a real sweetie too.
Have fun at retreat.
Fun randomness! Hope you are feeling better! I've kind of been in the same boat...a cold that just won't let me go!! ;-/
I sure don't miss the smelly trees! Hopefully the rain will calm them down? That basket is awesome! Have fun on your trip!
Oh how lucky, have an awesome retreat. Not so lucky to be feeling sick, but hope that goes away quickly. Lovely fabric combos.
You're granddaughter is just beautiful. Hope you have a great retreat!
Have fun at your retreat!
I've been feeling crummy for about 10 daysbut FINALLY a good morning today! Have fun at retreat...
Can I join your End Of An Era Club? So excited for your quilt retreat, what an awesome way to get back in the groove!
Charlotte is so blessed! When we have Grandparents' Day, one Grandma is able to go. Love the toy filled room! Looks like my house every day.
Well, if you can't get to QuiltCon, I think your retreat idea sounds perfect. Hope you are feeling better, both sick-wise and writer-wise. Have a great time!
E.
Pretty squares to play with!
Sick seems to be the game here too lately...got the house disinfected and the humidifier and kleenex working hard! lol
Hope you are feeling better and have a lovely time at the retreat :)
Have fun at your retreat!! Sorry that it was your turn on the Wheel of Illness. That care package is sweet and thoughtful, though. Take care!!
Sorry to hear you are still under the weather! Look after yourself- I'm sure you are itching to get stuck into some decent sewing!
Cute grand kids!! Have fun at your retreat. Hope you feel better soon.
Donna
Hope your feeling better and having fun at your retreat. Your grandkids are precious!
We had those trees on my college campus, they are so stinky!!
I really hope you have a fabulous retreat! :)
I can't wait to see what you are going to quilt with those colorful squares. And I hope you are feeling much better. It's wonderful you have friends that are so caring and left you a care package; how thoughtful. I can't wait to have grandchildren around to mess up my family room.
Catching up on your blog. Prepare for a bunch of comments flooding your inbox. Sorry. No need to respond to them all. I love that both sets of grandparents were there. E. will never have that as both sets live far away. :-( Glad you're starting to get your mojo back! What a wonderful neighbor/friend. I need to remember that next time one of my friends has to cancel dinner or something due to illness. ;-)
