Do you follow Lori Holt on Instagram (@beelori1)? She is making a Christmas version of some of the blocks from her book, Quilty Fun, and designing a few others to add to the mix.
I started with the mittens because I have been waiting forever to use this super cute knitted-looking fabric.
Then I made this little gingerbread house. And now I kind of want to make a few more and have a gingerbread village.
Next came Mr. Gingerbread Man.
Several people commented and said, "Please, PLEASE. Give him some eyes!" So after I completed the mug and peppermint stick stirrer, I added some eyes. Whew. Sometimes it's a tough crowd!
Next up is the Christmas tree.
There are SO many other things I should be working on. But these blocks give me a chance to use some of the Christmas fabric I have been collecting for years. So just a few more. And then I promise to get back to the City Sampler blocks.
Unless someone else starts an irresistible project on Instagram...
What have you been up to?

They are pretty cute blocks for sure ; ) I didn't work on mine either.......
OMGosh....I can see why you got distracted. Those blocks are darling!
Goodness how I love these Christmas blocks you're making! I was wondering which project these fit into, so it's fun to learn they are for a new project. I had some of that knitted-looking fabric years ago and made some patchwork drawstring bags for gifts. I am excited to report I am sewing the binding onto my Garden Party quilt. And I started piecing blocks for a new quilt. So fun to be sewing again!
I can understand the distraction!! Super cute blocks!
I've been watching your progress on these and they're all gorgeous, but I know exactly how you feel. Everyone else is making fun things so you want to join in too. In fact I just saw another temptation this morning - #christmasornamentsal I'd love to join in but already have 3 stitching projects on the go, and many more quilting projects. Next year I'll be more organised - ha, ha.
All the blocks are cute, but the mittens are SEW cute with that fabric!
That knitted-looking fabric is fantastic. Those are such fun blocks!! I can see why you got distracted :)

All of them are so, so cute.
The knitted fabric is absolute perfection! Glad yer man got eyes too, I was getting seriously disturbed at all the eyeless men popping up on IG!
As we say around here, since seeing the movie "Up,": "Squirrel!" Distractable are you? Well, I wouldn't worry about it a bit. It's what makes you happy - makes you tick. You're enjoying these Christmas blocks, and why shouldn't you? I'm on an EPP kick, and gearing up to try the Millefiori Quilt Along, in January, with Katja Marek. Hmm. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it to someone as susceptible as you. :-)
