81 blocks on the front (ignore the fact that I put it on the design wall incorrectly)
We blogged about them every Friday for months. She completed the back to her quilt, sent it off to be quilted, unpicked some of the quilting, sent it off again, and then wrote a post about her beautiful quilt. In 2013.Mine is still not finished.
So. High on my priority list has been to finally complete the back so my quilt can finally be completed. Then I can finally write a post telling you what a wonderful experience this was, to make the same two blocks each week with a good friend, because it really WAS a wonderful experience. I can show you my completed Farmer's Wife quilt for the first time. And Carla can reintroduce you to her really stunning quilt.
I'm happy to report that the back is done so I'm considering it a "finish" this week. By now the whole thing should be in the hands of my fabulous quilter, Dea, who quilts more than she blogs. :) Lucky for me.
(30 blocks on the back)
I can't wait to share my favorite blocks--you might be surprised--and one that I thoroughly despised.I'm linking up here and here.

I'm with you. Sometimes the back is harder for me than the front. Can't wait to see it finished.
I'm looking forward to the story! I am determined to sandwich my "back burner" quilt today!
This is a wonderful finish! I love how it ties in with the front but a little simpler and quieter. So fun to look at both sides! I can't wait to see a picture of you curled up in it when it comes back from the quilter.
can't wait to see it finished! Did your friend share somewhere about her unpicking the longarm quilting? I would be horrified if I had to do that!
Congrats! That's great and very acceptable as a finish in my book :)
Happy for you to be ridding yourself of the weight of guilt with this one. A finish is great, but a too-long-a-UFO finish is absolutely fabulous... almost a reason to party! Yay to being almost finished!
Sometimes getting over that last hurdle feels like climbing up the Grand Canyon. Without ropes. So bravo to you for getting it all completed (the back AND the front). Next step: enjoying the quilt when it comes back from the quilter's, so until then, take a rest and play!

Lol, you have to finish this one before you start the next mammoth task ;o)
This is absolutely beautiful! I'm so glad that it is 'finished' and ready for her final steps. Can't wait to see it bound and posing for her glamor shot.
LOVE this!
Looks great!!!
Your back is as gorgeous as the front! I'm having fun studying each block in your quilt.....ahhh...memories! I notice that both churn dash blocks were sent to the back...poor things!! And, I spy that despised one....I'll have to think about which one I despised the most...lots of favorites, for me! I'm so excited for you!!
I really like your back and can't wait to see the whole completed quilt.
I have a fabric giveaway started. Few sign ups so far :)

I definitely consider this a finish!!! Yay for getting this quilt to your longarmer.
Yes yes to a back finish . . it counts in my book.
The back looks great !! Isn't it the best feeling to drop a quilt off to a long armer so they can add their magic. I admire you for sticking to such a big ongoing project. It'll be wonderful to see the finished quilt.
Nice back, and it's gotta feel great having it at the quilter!
I can't wait to see it finished!
Love the quilt top and the back!
Carol
