Our roses are blooming.
I'm sorry for all you people still under a new blanket of snow. Did you see this video of "ice needles" from Medicine Lake, Minnesota? So cool cold...
(Here's a link if it doesn't come up on your iPad or iPhone)
It's T-ball season. You might remember that I have been wearing a splint on my right hand for tendinitis. The occupational therapist says surgery is the answer. I say
One of our dearest friends just retired last Friday. I'm leaving at the end of this month to celebrate with her, where she and her husband live in western Kansas. This is their home.
Yes, it will be difficult spending time in this beautiful home. But I'll do my best...
So I asked her what she was doing on her first morning of retirement. Gardening. And she even had a little helper.
I love it when my friends dress to match their iPhone:
Pure joy:
Your turn:

That hot wax treatment is sublime, I had it after a badly broken wrist last year. I found that it increased the range of movement by a considerable amount. I had to do a range of movements as part of my physiotherapy and found that EPP just about included all of them!
Your random day is delightful. Thanks for sharing.
Love the joy! I used that wax on my feet, it's so fabulous!
Paraffin waxes are heavenly!! Glad to see you got one. Sorry to hear they have to operate:(
Ooh, you've made me want to try a paraffin dip. :) Love the pic of your friend and her phone. :) Enjoyed your post, except for the surgery part. :/
Paraffin waxes are heavenly! Hope you manage to avoid the surgery.
I've had a paraffin dip on my feet. It's awesome! Makes my skin so soft! Hope if you do have the surgery you recover fast and can get back to sewing. Are you going to do it? I wish we could get E. to play softball. She loves hitting in our back yard, and she is good at it. But I cannot get her interested in organized sports! I'm afraid that snow and sleet is headed our way!
I turned down the paraffin for my aches and pains, but I think I need to reconsider!
Fabulous random! The paraffin dip sounds amazing and you certainly have friends with wonderful taste. Love all those zigzags and the house. I'm looking forward to seeing the ice needles. Apparently, an error is occurring at the moment and I must come back later...I do hope you find a good and lasting solution for your tendentious :)
Eww, that wax looks freaky! The great escape looks fun though!
What a beautiful home you are going to visit! My son lives in western Kansas, and has really grown to love it there. Hope you have a great trip!
I hope your friend is a quilter. S/he must take you to Lawrence so you can go to the two quilt shops across the street from one another. Sarah's Fabrics is the best! (And I bet Carla would meet you there.) I've heard those hand and feet waxes feel really good. I hope this helped your problem.
Hope your hand feels better! We used to drip wax on our fingers when we were kids....I bet that did feel good. What a great home! Have a wonderful time :)
Sorry to hear about your hand! My aunt used to be a physical therapist before she retired, so she let us try a paraffin dip when we were kids. Such a cool experience! Hope it gets better soon.
Your friends house looks beautiful!
Great random post, but I sure hope that you don't have to have surgery on your hand, Cindy!
YOUCH! Tendonitis in the hand would be horrible. I have some in my hip, luckily it is just treated with some physiotherapy and stretching. Gorgeous house! I want one!
