Sewing Room Friday, 12/15/23

All last week, before we left for Disneyland, I was busy making zipper pouches.

I made these four for Christa to gift to her staff at Central Valley Justice Coalition.

Then I got busy making vinyl pouches. So many. I didn't even remember to photograph all of them!

A friend requested this pencil pouch.

This one is orange on one side and pink on the other, and the sides of the zipper tape are two different colors as well. That was fun. I'll probably do that again...

Turning these right side out is tough on my hands. There is no way I could do it without the use of my blowdryer to soften the vinyl.

I got a progress shot of my Lumos quilt. How gorgeous is this??!
I was able to gift the Friendly Faces quilt yesterday. I think she likes it.
Before I forget, my 2024 calendar, The Mural District, is available. Here is a link. I'm super happy with this one--it might be my favorite so far. I tried really hard to match the quilts with the murals.

Okay. I'm off to cut more vinyl...

I'm so impressed with all your small makes. They all look fabulous. I never motivate for stuff like that but really should in order to use up more fabric. I'm actually finding it hard to motivate for any sewing lately but am looking forward to a fresh start in 2024. If only I could sew faster. I need some elves to help.

You have certainly been busy. Those pouches are so impressive. Thank you for the hint about the blow dryer. That certainly makes it sound easier. That quilt is looking so great. Can't wait to see the completed quilting (as I imagine that's what you think, too). Merry Christmas.

I can't believe how many zipper pouches you've made! My goodness. I wouldn't KNOW that many people to gift them to! I'm still especially fond of that one (first) with the diagonal zipper. It looks classy. Great tip about using a hair dryer to warm and then turn vinyl. I made a number of vinyl-lined pouches and didn't think to do that. Your calendar looks beautiful too. What a great way to document all your fantastic creations.
