I apparently cannot read a pattern properly. But in the end I was completely okay with it. Instead of a pattern that was supposed to be diagonal, I had rows that formed chevrons and I liked it a LOT better!
And because I know (now) exactly what I did, I will be able to make the same "mistake" again!
I don't think the recipient was too critical. She seems pretty happy with it.
US 10, 16 stitches
Row 1: *P2,K2*
Row 2: *P1, K2*, P1
Row 3: *K2, P2*
Row 4: *K1, P2*, K1
(this is the pattern for the chevron design--for the correct diagonal pattern, go here)
And Christa was happy with the cowl, which in turn made me very happy too!
US 13 circular needles, 80 stitches
Row 1: K1, P1
Row 2: P1, K1
And now back to quilting. Have a lovely weekend.
Both finishes are lovely. Two of my favorite colors. Thanks for the chevron knitting pattern!
ReplyDeletepretty! wish I knew how to knit :(
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the circular needles either, but I understand their necessity. The scarves look wonderful AND appreciated.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty finishes, Cindy! You've been a busy lady. I knitted years ago, in the 80s, and have no desire to take it up again when there are so many quilts calling me. Love, love, love to sew! But I really appreciate the time and talent it takes to knit. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo of Charlotte!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful makes there, the scarf is just great as it turned out. The recipient is a gorgeous little thing isn't she, she looks really pleased with it too x
ReplyDeleteLovely xxx
ReplyDeletePretty finishes and pretty girls!
ReplyDeleteHey you did a great job on both!! I have no clue when it comes to knitting:)
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed! I don't think I remember how to knit.
ReplyDeleteWTG you! I don't knit, but those circular needles look distinctly challenging!
ReplyDeleteVery nice mistake Cindy. I sometimes wish I knew how to quilt but then I already have more than enough projects to find time for.
ReplyDeletegood on you. The good endorphins the you get from finishing something are great!
