Really Random Thursday: 4/11/13

The MCC sale was last weekend.

Quilts--mostly traditional. Hardly a "modern" quilt in sight...But still a lot of beautiful quilts to be seen.
Slow-drip coffee--really good:
Good food--I know it looks rather monochromatic on the plate, but so yummy.

Along with several of these:

Photo courtesy of De Ma Cuisine--even though I didn't ask for permission. (Hi, Rachel). And you really should check out Rachel's cooking show! Filmed by Rachel in her tiny kitchen. Lots of good food at Les Adventures Dans Ma Cuisine!

I enjoyed every single bite. Because Monday Mark and I decided to start the Dr. Gott "no flour, no sugar" diet.

The sale is the perfect place to see friends and family you haven't seen since last year. Or people you see on a regular basis, like this awesome group who participated in the 2-mile walk before breakfast.
And this one who just chilled out with me for awhile:
I can hardly wait for next year!

This tendinitis is seriously annoying me.  It's hard enough having to curtail computer work beyond my actual job (which explains why I am so slow in responding to all you nice readers who leave comments or who share your randomness here) but I'm also having to be careful with how much sewing I do.
I'm pretty sure some of this super cute nail polish would improve the fact that I have a hand in a splint. But really? $19 per bottle with $8.95 shipping?? How could it possibly cost that much to ship a tiny little bottle? Especially considering how much fabric you can shove in a flat-rate box for $5.35.

Mark made this most amazing fused glass platter as a custom-ordered wedding gift. Isn't it beautiful?!

Our son, Aaron, an extremely avid Dodgers fan, and his friend, Chris, another extremely avid Dodgers fan, have started a podcast.
Aaron is the guy in the front, and Chris is in the white t-shirt right behind him--aren't they good looking?! (the guy on the left is Phil Humber, who became only the 21st player in MLB history to throw a perfect game)

They describe it as a podcast about Dodgers, baseball, baseball cards and life in general. I even got a "shout-out" in the first episode. That was a really fun surprise. Are you an extreme Dodger fan? According to Aaron, here is the info you need:

If you follow us on the site, then you you will be notified each time we publish a new podcast.  soon we will be up and running on itunes as well for easy download to your ipad, iphone, ipod, mp3 player, etc.  follow us on twitter: @TKBexperience
tell your friends.
Of course I'll be following the weekly podcast because I know he avidly follows my blog because I'm his mother and I feel obligated know it will be fascinating listening.

I'll end with this. Just because it made me laugh.

Your turn.

I so know what the tendonitis is like. I have it in my thumb too, plus a bit of Carpel Tunnel in both hands. Too many years of computer work. Anyway, this is the splint that I use when I've made it mad. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=254957&catid=60001&aid=338666&aparam=goobase_filler&device=c&network=g&matchtype=
It holds my thumb much more stiff and can then heal faster. Good luck!

Sooo sorry about the tendonitis. Ouch!

I will have to send the Dodger info to my SIL - an avid fan.

Mark's glass piece is lovely. Does he have a kiln at home?

Oooh, ouch, poor you! I had tendonitis in both hands about 15 years ago -- awful! I hope you are able to rest it up, Cindy! Don't worry about replying to this. :)

Sorry about your tendinitis. Hope it gets better soon. Cute cartoon. What a beautiful glass tray! I could totally see a quilt like that.

I've had tendinitis in my knee before and it is very annoying. Can't imagine trying to quilt/type/do a lot of things. Boo hiss!

I do hope your tendonitis goes away soon. I love the glass platter and that is fab nail varnish but, as you say, very expensive!

Glad you had fun at the sale! Boo to the carpal tunnel, I'm hoping that the RSI I got from hand quilting the beast is going to just go away if I wish for it...

The glass platter is gorgeous. I am sure that it is no coincidence that they look like quilt blocks around the outside.

I hope your hand feels better soon! I love that nailpolish but would NEVER pay that for it! And your hubby really did a great job on the gift!

Thanks for hosting this random goodness again this week. I missed posting last week and the smiles this brings. I am back!

So sorry to read about your tendinitis and that it interferes with sewing. :( Hope you feel better soon.

The thread in my eye gif is cute ... makes me smile ... :) Pat

I'm sorry to hear that you are still having the pain in your hand. It looks cumbersome to have to sew with that on. That little Ruby sure is growing up!

So sorry to hear your hand is still bad - have you tried acupuncture? Love the random!

P.S. Don't reply!
