Really Random Thursday

Recently I got the latest issue of this magazine.
And inside I saw this quilt, designed by Kevin Kosbab.

So I went to my stash and pulled these out. I'm pretty sure this quilt pattern and I are made for each other. Awesome.
Does anyone else besides me think this is highway robbery, for a movie that is 1 hour and 9 minutes long, showing at 11 a.m., and the price for little ones under 5 is $8? Really?? On the other hand, I paid the price. So I guess they know what they are doing...

Every Monday morning here at Lakeview Cottages, we have a pancake breakfast for all the guests. The managers make the pancakes and the guests bring something to share. I loved the shadows created by this bowl of fruit.
My new favorite blocks for Taking My Chances, the 36-patch quilt-along by Crazy Mom Quilts.

A couple of weeks ago I was at REI and totally succumbed to an impulse buy, two little flashlights, one in the shape of a parrot and the other in the shape of a shark. Because these two little people totally light up my life.

And this melts my heart.
The end.

They would melt my heart too. So sweet.

I am really loving that block. What size squares are you using? I think the word quilt will be fabulous too.

Yes, the cost of movie tickets for that age is dreadful!

When I saw that quilt, I felt exactly the same! I've spent many an hour at the shredder at work!
I don't know how much kid's tickets cost here, but I spend a whole lot less for a matinee, and even less as a "senior"

Those little ones are precious. I had my eye on that quilt, too.
Here we have $1 day on Wednesday for little ones to go to the movies. They are old movies, but it's cool inside and the kids are happy.

Fun posting!! Are those strips on the orange Stitch quilt made out of selvages? Oh, you must have gone to see Winnie the Pooh! Aren't the theater prices out of site! My 4 year old grandson rated it a 10 though, so I guess it was worth it!

I don't know about the shadows, but that bowl of berries made me hungry for the same! :)

Love the pics of the littles, especially the one with Grandpa. Making memories!

That quilt design really is cool! I adore the fabrics you pulled for it. Makes me wish I thought to collect text fabrics. Love that idea of pancake breakfast, especially with such beautiful fresh fruit. Cute idea to get mini flashlights for toys!

I love this random post. :-) I really dig your black and white fabrics. Please teach me to buy fabrics like that. I can't wait to see you make that quilt!

And for the record, yes, I think it's highway robbery. Try going to a 3-D movie sometime. It's even more.

When I saw Kevin's quilt in Stich I wanted to make it. Do you know the names of the fabrics that you had in your stash? I am looking for some fabrics for this quilt. I found a crossword one but not sure what to search for other word fabrics.

Thanks,

Pam
