So then I started another little project with Oakshott's latest range,Impressions, a set of fat 1/8ths shot with white, making them all lovely pastels.
Does this ever happen to you? You visualize something in your head, do all the cutting, start the construction. And then realize it.is.not.going.to.work. Yeah, that's where I am at this point. Frustrating... Next time I will put the "vision" on paper before I start cutting.
Linking to Lee.
Check us out!!! Number ONE and Number THREE! Woohoo! We rock.
ReplyDeleteAnd you especially rock with your Oakshotts. Man--thou almost dost persuade me. . .
That Marcelle Goes to the Circus is stunningly beautiful. Add that to the list of Quilts I Must See.
Okay, now we can go to bed, right?

ReplyDeleteStupendous...and passing it to Krista will take it to a completely stratospheric level of amazingness! She did one of my quilts and it was the best decision I ever made. Can't wait to see what she does to it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your quilt plans Cindy. It happened to me on my very first large quilt...sort of the same. I had all the pieces out before starting to sew a thing. Realized later, I used one of the smaller templates for the larger piece. I was devasted!! But took an 1/8 inch seam allowance instead of 1/4 and it went well....still have it!!! lol
ReplyDeleteIt's just beautiful! I can't wait to see it quilted. I am feeling the need for more Oakshott now!
ReplyDeleteLove the motion you've created in this piece. Fabulous. I don't get too discouraged when things don't quite work out. I had a Bargello that didn't work for my plans, I put it up on my design wall for a couple weeks and it's turned into something far more fabulous than it was intended for. Just need to let them breath a bit longer!
ReplyDeleteI love your version of the Marcelle! The use of the Kaffe stripes is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteFabulous quilt! AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteEsther

ReplyDeleteThe Medallion in Oakshots is beautiful. This is the best one I've seen. It appeals to me most n the semi solids of the Oakshots.
