My idea was to start in the upper left corner with very low volume blocks with just a touch of red.
Gradually add more red to the blocks.
Then red and white blocks with a touch of green.
Decrease the amount of white and have mostly red and some green. (Oops, where did that thread come from?)And then work in the opposite way to the lower right hand corner. Mostly green with some red.
Gradually add some white, while working mostly with green.
You know how you have a vision but you are never quite sure if the reality will match it your expectations? In this case, I'm thrilled with the results.
Even the back--I used up some of my favorite Christmas prints.
And added a peppermint stripe binding.
You may be familiar with the fact that I photograph nearly all of my quilts in front of our little shed in the backyard. But Mark and I took this quilt out for a fun photo op. Hope you enjoy it.

Cindy, this is the best interpretation of this quilt I have ever seen. I am so glad to see your vision realized. You did a wonderful job.
I love the photos on the statue, how perfect! Your plan for the quilt definitely worked. Nice job! Enjoy it this season!
I saw this quilt in the photo of your quilt ladder yesterday and wanted to see more. It is stunning.
Fabulous quilt!
Love it!!!!! Best Christmas Quilt I have seen in awhile!
Beautiful! You really executed your vision well, and your quilt turned out fabulous.
I am in love with this quilt Cindy, I may have to "borrow" your idea! Saw it in the corner of your post about the ladder from DIL and was smitten immediately.
This is lovely! What attention to detail and palette and it sure shows in the end result! Really nice.
Wow! This is beautiful!
Wow! it worked out beautifully. congrats on a great finish.
I think this quilt is perfect!! Can you tell me what the reindeer name fabric is?
Wow! I just started making these blocks, they're such fun! But I don't have a plan, I'm just making each block with fabrics I love. Maybe the quilt will be called "little jewels". Yours is fabulous, the color plan worked out perfectly.
Beautiful quilt! This one is on my list to make. I haven't seen a Christmasy/red and green version so I love it!
It's gorgeous!
Oh Cindy! It's wonderful! Yes, your vision came out exactly right. It's stunning and I hope Tula sees it ; )
absolutely exquisite!
This is so amazing!!
This is so amazing!!
Looks awesome! I just finished Patchwork City as a mini, posted it here - http://quiltfabrication.blogspot.com/2015/12/patchwork-suburb.html
so I fully understand how you put this together!
Wow! That is absolutely stunning and a clever use of theme fabrics with the City Sampler blocks! Fabulous quilt!!!

I would have never thought to make a Christmas quilt with these blocks. It's for sure a OMG quilt!! Just beautiful!
This is really great. I love how your gradation came out.
I think it was from the Countdown to Christmas line by Sweetwater from a few years ago.
Perfection! Love it in Christmas colors!
Brilliant. Love that you used a pattern available to everyone and have added a twist to it that makes it very unique. Your vision worked big time.
It's wonderful Cindy. I love that you took the pattern and put your own spin on it. That's the best kind of quilt. I also love that you moved through red and into green - very clever. It's a lovely Christmas quilt which you can bring out again and again for years to come.
Wow, that is gorgeous. Thanks for showing us how you designed the flow of colours too.
That is fabulous and so well planned out. Beautiful job, Cindy. It will be a real treasure for years to come.
That deer is sporting one fabulous quilt!!! Love the photo shoot, but your quilt is WOW!!
Looks amazing! I've seen a lot of Tula samplers before, but this one is my favourite!
Oh my goodness - this is stunning! What an amazing interpretation of the Tula sampler! Simply gorgeous!
Fabulous! What a brilliant spin you have put on this quilt pattern Cindy, it is definitely an heirloom in the making :)
This quilt is so fun! It should be hung in a candy store window for the holidays! Wonderful.
This is just gorgeous! You nailed it, the flow from color to color is perfect. I love this pattern and seeing this makes me want to make it even more now!
Beautiful!
this is the coolest quilt I've seen in along time, congrats to you, it is just awesome!
I love this! It is just genius the way you faded the colors out toward the corners. Beautiful!
This so totally awesome! It is, by far, my favorite version of the 100 blocks quilt I have seen (including the original). I just love it, the fading is so effective.
Your vision executed beautifully! I love it!

Makes a great blanket for Rudolph! Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday
It's beautiful!
Your concept worked beautifully! The color gradation is spot-on! And look at all the blog commenters who like it too. Lovely work, Cindy!
So much work has clearly gone into making your lovely quilt. The color gradation is fantastic.
Amazing choice of fabrics! Beautiful!
Hooray, it looks wonderful! I remember leaving one of my first comments on your blog about this quilt (and I was totally thrilled when you wrote back!) Congrats again.
I love it all: the statute beauty shot, the fabric selection, the Tula blocks, the candy cane binding. It makes me want to tear into my hoarded Christmas fabrics and my pristine copy of City Sampler.
