Salt Lake City and the end of a great road trip

We decided to spend the night in Salt Lake City. We stayed just a couple of blocks from Temple Square. We took a tour, which was very interesting. The buildings and grounds are beautiful.

What we were most interested in was attending the weekly Thursday night practice of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It is a two-hour practice, completely open to the public. If you are ever in Salt Lake City on a Thursday night, I can't recommend this highly enough. We were treated to the full orchestra and of course their famous pipe organ. It was amazing!

On Friday we stayed around long enough to attend a half-hour pipe organ concert, also highly recommended.

Then we headed home, past the Salt Lake, one more night in Nevada, and then home to Fresno. We found out that we are good road travelers together, so we are already planning another trip.

It is so nice to see someone else uses the old time paper maps. Road trips are our absolute favorite trips together.

The choir looks and sounds like it was a fantastic experience.
