A progress report on the Fusion Blanket Crochet Along? Yes! Even though there is very little progress to report. Which is kind of bad for a co-host...
Yesterday I sewed all the squares together. I now have 20 altogether. They haven't even been pressed yet. But it's a start.
Plan:
1. Press.
2. Hand stitch the opening closed.
3. Machine stitch 1/4 inch all the way around.
4. Blanket stitch.
5. Start crocheting--the part I'm really looking forward to!
In case you forgot (and because there really isn't much to remember...), this is what my blocks will look like.
Minus the wrinkles in the center...
Are you playing along? How is your progress coming?

you can do this! My progress, 8 blocks done and joined, 5 more blocks crocheted & ready, 3 blocks blanket stitched & the rest ready to blanket stitch... woohoo!
I'm not playing along, but looking forward to seeing these all done :o)
I have scheduled a one-on-one crochet lesson tomorrow. Depending on how that goes, I may play along!
They are so cute, it is going to look sensational when you are done!!
Why yes, I am playing along! I am working on mine by columns. I have 10 blocks completed.
I only sew together one column's worth, flip, iron, stitch around, blanket stitch, then crochet. I did one row, but switched to columns. When I finish one column I will crochet those squares together. When all the columns are joined, I will crochet them together.
A bit slow going, but incredible fun.
Perhaps a bit slower now that it is back to school time.
I am trying to play along. I'm learning to crochet first. I'm practicing on dishcloths. LOL. Haven't made it this far yet.
My progress: 10 blocks done and joined, the other 10 squares are waiting for the blanket stitch!
question: after the blanket stitch, what pattern are you using to crochet the edging?
also, any tips on what kind of needle to get?
thanks!! :)
You have 20 squares? That sounds like good progress to me! Can't wait to see them.
